We are well known for our exceptionally clean premises and our lovely housekeeping staff are even more vigilant than ever during this troubling time.

Precautions we are taking:

Our staff practise all the covid recommended actions in relating to wearing masks, social distancing etc. and all surfaces are cleaned with a council approved food-safe cleaner.

Our linen and towels are all laundered externally by a professional laundry company using very high heat for all washing.

Self-serve hand sanitiser is available at reception.

Our apartments are open but due to the fact that we are not allowed to serve breakfast during this covid period, we have reconfigured the layout of the main house and it is now known as ‘Captains Retreat Apartments’.
(During this period we are taking $15 per person from the tariff and guests are eating out for breakfast).

So in addition to the external apartments (3 apartments at the boutique art deco Bayview blocks across the road + 1 modern apartment on The Strand + the Williamstown cottage next door), we now offer the following accommodation options in the main house:

1) The ‘Commodore’s Terrace Apartment’. This beautiful upstairs 2 Queen bedroom apartment comprises a lovely, large guest kitchen/dining/lounge room with open gas fire and the 2 rear upstairs bedrooms as well as the large north facing terrace with views across the terrace to the garden and in winter across the rooftops of Williamstown to the Westgate Bridge. This was the original shared guest lounge and terrace plus Lysander and Nelson rooms and is now a private 2 bedroom apartment with large terrace.

2) The Captains Spa Suite: This gorgeous upstairs Queen Suite has its own separate living area as well as a beautiful bathroom with spa bath, double walk in shower and stunning lead light window over the spa. A delightful arched doorway echoes arched headlight windows over the bed and leads to a bay window reading nook and private balcony with views along Ferguson St to the Hosbson’s Bay Yacht Club.

3) The Corsair Spa room – This lovely downstairs room only looks onto the laneway but the 2 arched leadlight windows and the gas fireplace in the bedroom and the high ceilings with Victorian rose and cornices still make this a charming room. The 2nd fireplace is an unusual feature of the spa bathroom.

4) The Endeavour Room with ensuite. At the requst of many, we turned the upstairs massage room into another room that whilst still a Queen room, is smaller than the other rooms and is therefore priced accordingly. This is our newest room, just finished last year and includes a new, small ensuite bathroom.
