Welcome To Captains Retreat Apartments and Cottages

When I first saw our beautiful old home in this fabulous location, I decided that ‘this was it’.

Built originally as a single 4 room cottage (1862) and then extensively extended in 1880 for a ship Captain and his family, the house at number 2 Ferguson St. has also been a nunnery, a brothel, accommodation flats and administration offices – all part of its rich history!

We spent years renovating, restoring and refurbishing and we’re delighted that our guests love what has been done. Most people comment on how much larger it is than it looks from the street and ‘what a lovely feel’ the home has when they walk through.

The beds are all new and very comfortable with beautiful linen, fresh flowers,  digital TV’s etc. – all things to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
